This needs to be shared and acknowledged. I love Turkey so much, especially its representation of the separation of religion and state and the way both can co exist and construct a culture and a nation. However currently in Turkey, government is attempting to block attempts by media to distribute information on the current riots taking place in Istanbul, the only way to disperse these images is through social media. With an increasing anti-secular discourse the current government has been making unpopular changes and attacking those who are resisting. These are graphic images from a sit in that turned violent when a landmark was demolished in the centre of istanbul and several riots are still happening across the country as people demand answers from the government.
